3D Printing: Articles and Multimedia - T.Rowe Price
As we move on with the 21st Century (please recall the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution and the introduction of Henry Ford of the assembly line ) we start to see the new things that will shape our lives int he future. This to say the least are rudimentary as rudimentary was electricity, radio, TV, RC, and the light bulb in its beginnings.
With that said, just imagine, you been able to think something draw it and making it within hours. Well... some of us are doing it nowadays but not all of us are aware of it. If Computer Literacy was an issue for the 21st Century Skills set, just imagine adding the "make:" revolution. We haven't finish to solve the first problem and we have another "stampede of know-how" going on.
The good news to that is that some of the relevant spearhead educational institutions and the participants of this new wave are founded in a new knowledge base model: OpenSource! I got to know OpenSource and did my first wiggles around 1999 when a coworker of mine introduce me to it with Linux software. At the the time Mandrake was the distribution (today is UBUNTU) later SuSE due to my work related activities. At the time I told and swear that the endeavor was not sustainable and it will fail. Was I ever wrong...
From OpenSource we now have CrowdSourcing due to the combination of this frame of mind and the excess of displaced talent by ineptitude and political correctness.
Now almost everything is OpenSource, and the movement has no intention to stop. Is the OpenSource movement the one that will come to the rescue of humanity and the ones that have made possible this "third" stage of eco-crowd-nomic development. The vision to the future should be one of unimaginable accomplishments by the individual for the good of the individual.
